Ten Thousand Dice Game

A dice game that my students really enjoy is ten thousand.

I have found that a group of 4 to 6 students is ideal. All they need is 6 standard dice, a pen and a scoring table.

You can read the rules of how to play ten thousand here.

A lot of information can be discovered about students by playing this game with them or observing them play with other students. Can they perform mental addition? Do they know when it is sensible to stop rolling? How do they react to or co-operate with others?

Note that the game will generate a lot of excitement when large scores are rolled, and when the game nears completion!

You can download (and modify) a copy of my score sheet (10000 Scoresheet.doc) by clicking the Scribd icon found in the right hand column of this blog.
